Commercial Why it is Important to Prepare for Water Damage to Your Duluth Business Excess water can unexpectedly close a business. Use our Emergency Ready Plan and Profile (ERP) to plan a response for an emergency.

Prepare For Emergency Water Damage To Your Duluth Business

The last thing a Duluth business needs is a water damage loss, particularly if it takes you by surprise. Water risks are everywhere in the Northland, including the dozens of rivers and creeks that flow into the big lake, the many kinds of precipitation that fall on your property year round, and the myriad of internal plumbing, roofing or gutter systems, and water-using equipment and appliances that can spring leaks. Plan with us to prevent a business threatening water damage disaster.

Our Emergency Ready Plan and Profile (ERP) helps develop a concise blueprint for responding constructively to avoid significant losses when water intrudes inside your Duluth company. We come to your commercial building to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of your setup. After the inspection and a discussion with you about your concerns and priorities, we make suggestions to safeguard essential records, inventory, and business equipment from water losses.

The SERVPRO ERP mobile app offers you another chance to customize your preparedness plan even further. Use the app to identify crucial components of your operation that a water disaster exposes to damage. Share with us the names of key employees or managers whom you designate as agents who can act on your behalf. List vendors and contractors who could help us help you get a water-damaged version of your business quickly back into operation.

Fifty percent of the businesses that close even for a few days due to water or other damage find it hard to survive the slowdown or stoppage a disaster inflicts. SERVPRO works with you to devise ways to keep operations at least partially open as we help your recover from commercial water damage. Your clients and customers rely on the services and products you provide. Preparing for the worst and exploring ways to limit the adverse effects of a water catastrophe is smart business policy, rewarding your company with renewed confidence from your constituency at a time when other businesses might be floundering.

Our town has many charming venues in our repurposed business district. Commercial water damage in Superior, both chronic and due to emergencies, is a standard issue in older buildings. The approach you take as a business owner when you notice a water crisis can make a significant difference in how quickly the damage resolves and whether your business takes a hit from which it finds it hard to recover. Our talented water damage restoration technicians have the skills and experience to help you survive this setback.

SERVPRO emphasizes restoration over demolition and replacement. This informs the collaborative nature of our work with our commercial customers. We understand that you need every effort to be made to limit the time your business must be “offline.” In many cases, we arrange the tasks need to restore water damage in such a way that you can still welcome customers.

When we arrive, our crew chief assesses the water damage issues. If an emergency plumbing fix or other repair is required, we help arrange for it. Then we get to work with water removal and structural drying. SERVPRO’s equipment is commercial grade and high-efficiency, making short work of any standing water.

Our technicians train to make precise moisture measurements of affected structural elements. We take a baseline reading to help us determine our drying goals. We also use infrared scanning technology to locate any water hiding in the nooks and crannies of the 100-year-old building housing your business. SERVPRO technicians master a range of techniques to remove trapped water, including employing extensions on our wanded extractors or drilling holes through mortar joints to release the moisture.

Air movers, heaters, and dehumidifiers achieve a balance optimized to accelerate the evaporation of water from saturated building materials. If possible, SERVPRO crew members barricade the area, so business goes one. Throughout we monitor the decreasing moisture levels until we reach the drying goal.

Check out this video.  The truth is ALL public bathrooms will show amazing colorful displays of urine splashed all over (everything).  Bring a black light in to a restroom and see what I mean!  This video shows one way of addressing the nasty stains and odors that are invisible to our naked eye...but show their true colors under the black light.

This is actually a great way to tell if an area is really safe to use.

Commercial Mold Removal in College of St. Scholastica The College looks like 25 years ago!

Thank you @Mickey Fitch for the amazing review: "We (The College of St. Scholastica, Residential Life) had Kevin and his crew from SERVPRO Twin Ports come in to clean our brick stairwells in some of our residence halls. They were efficient, highly communicative, and excellent partners through the whole process. Now, because of the work that they did, the stairwells look like what they did when the buildings were built 25 years ago!"
